Houses around the World
We have really enjoyed our theme work this week. We have been looking at houses around the world, which has included beach huts, igloos, tents and even tree houses! After researching different homes we made our own flood resistant houses using different materials such as foil, plasticine, wood and lego.
Christmas Maths
The children in 2FT have been very busy this week creating their own maths games. All of the games have been thought of and created by the children. As the games were so wonderful we thought it would be nice to share them, so we invited some of the other children in KS1 to play our games.
Christmas
We have been very busy this week. We have been making cards, calendars, decorations and we had a very special visitor.
Christmas Celebrations
We have had so much fun today at our party. We have danced away at the disco, giggled at Professor Pepperpot and enjoyed a dvd and party food. We were even lucky enough to have a very special visitor.
We promised to go to sleep on Christmas Eve so the magic can work.
Feliz Navidad
The children have been very busy with Spanish Christmas activities this week. They have made cards, completed Christmas word searches and have created a vocabulary book.
Children in Need
The children had a wonderful time meeting out special visitor today…Pudsey Bear! They sang him our Children in Need song and then watched him push over our postbox full of pennies. He even needed some help as it was so full with all of the pennies we collected!
The children had lots of fun dressing up as their heroes. We talk about how we could raise money next year and the children thought of cake sales, a disco, putting on a show and dressing up again.
We also talked about what children need. Ben said children need care, Callum said doctors to look after them and Eva said food, water, parents and something to cuddle if they feel sad.
Waterproof Experiment
Today we found out what is waterproof. We did an experiment to find out. We poured water on to different materials. We found out that plastic and foil are waterproof. Tissue paper and felt were not waterproof.

Home Learning Journals
We have completed our first tasks in our Home Learning Journals.
We could choose to make a model or draw a design for transport in the future.
Or we could draw a story map of a special journey.
We are proud of our work and all of us tried very hard.
Welcome to 2LW
