Miss Amanda Salisbury
I am delighted to welcome you to Lickey Hills Primary School and Nursery website. We also welcome parents and carers of pupils who are taught in our specialist speech, language and communication base with our education and healthcare team. Our staff and governors are tremendously proud of our children and their achievements.
Since my appointment as Headteacher in September 2013 our dedicated governor, staff, pupil and family team at LHPSN have worked relentlessly to ensure our pupils are safe and happy and encouraged to ‘dream, believe and achieve’ as they work towards their goals and ambitions.
LHPSN has a strong values led ethos with highly qualified and dedicated staff who believe in supporting the development of resilient, creative and ambitious learners who will become positive members of the local and global community.
Our vision is to create a school where every child achieves his/her potential through a relentless focus on high quality teaching and learning. We are proud of our year on year excellent academic achievements, the development of our children’s creative, scientific and sporting talents and the drive for good citizenship through our values based ethos.
LHPSN is a larger than average primary school, with 435 pupils on roll. The school also has a specialist Speech, Language and Communication Resource Base which is accessed by 20 pupils from the local authority. The school is organised into 18 classes, including two in the Language Base. There are 26 full time places in the school nursery which are split across approximately 40 pupils.
Our school motto is “Dream Together, Believe Together, Achieve Together.” which underpins our aims and ambitions for every member of the school community.
Ofsted inspected LHPSN in November 2014 and graded our school as a ‘good school’ with significant ‘outstanding’ elements. Below are quotes from our report, which can be read in full on our website.
‘Teaching is good in all year groups, and sometimes outstanding'
'The examples of outstanding learning in the school is characterised by the high expectations of the teachers and their excellent subject knowledge.’
‘Pupils’ attitudes to learning are enthusiastic and positive in all year groups and in the Early Years Foundation Stage. They behave well in lessons and around the school, are polite and respectful to adults and show good care and concern for each other.’
“The school is strongly led by a Headteacher with high aspirations and expectations for continual improvement of school performance. She is effectively supported by equally ambitious senior leaders and a skilled governing body.”
Our new website, with its photographs, children's work, quotes, blogs and news updates, will give you a snapshot of life at LHPNS. Please come and see the school at work for yourself and discover how your children could thrive in our happy, successful school.
