Our Reception children have been learning all about rainforests. They have been exploring all of the different animals that live in the rainforest and have drawn pictures of them🌿🦧

Year 1 had 2 visitors in school this week from Tilbury Douglas. As part of their DT learning, the children enjoyed finding out about the new buildings being constructed at Waseley Hills High School. They looked at photographs of the project and got to explore and hold materials used in construction, such as timber, plywood, concrete, cement and drainage pipes. The children tried to make bridges from paper and realised why it is important to have all of the right materials for a project. It was a brilliant opportunity to make connections between their learning and the real world👷🏻‍♀️👷🏾‍♂️🧱

Some of our Year 1 children went to Beaconside Primary School today for a sports festival. Throughout the afternoon they practised their balancing, throwing and agility by participating in javelin, running, jumping and weaving activities🏃🏽🏃🏾‍♀️

Just a reminder that this week we'll be doing the phonics screening check with our Year 1 children, starting today and being carried out across the week. We know they've all worked exceptionally hard, we wish them lots of luck, but the main thing is that they just try their best👽📚

Reception have started learning about transport. This week they have used duplo blocks to make vehicles and have designed and labelled their own vehicles🚗🚢✈️

Our KS1 children enjoyed sharing their achievements from clubs outside of school. They shared dance trophies, karate certificates, beavers badges, football photographs, swimming badges and lots more. We have very dedicated, talented children in KS1🌟🥇

Our lovely KS1 children are so excited for their KS1 Summer Concert. We're continuing to rehearse and we cannot wait to see you all at Lickey Church on Thursday 16th July, 1:30pm. It will be such a fabulous way to end the year🎶🎵
