Autumn term continues with our ‘Marvellous Me’ theme where we will further explore our bodies and senses as well as find out about each others families. We will also learn about Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day, Children in Need and Christmas.
Our chosen key text is ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell, where we learn about the beginning, middle and end of a story and the key events. We will discuss the characters and respond to their feelings, using our developing vocabulary and relate these feelings to our own experiences
Children receive two books each week: an independent book marked with an 'I', which are books children should be confident to read without support and a supported book marked with an 'S', where there may be a few words that you may need to help your child with. Children will also choose a class library book each week for you to enjoy sharing together. This one is ideal to further support your child with their comprehension skills.
Please return the communication folder every Monday morning with the reading diary and books so that they can be returned to you each Tuesday afternoon. We ask that children read each reading book over at least three days each week. Please make sure you clearly indicate in your reading diary that you have done this. There are also additional books shared on Oxford Owl so please see Evidence Me for further weekly suggestions.
PE - Reception has PE on a Tuesday. Please send your child to school in their kit on these days. Please make sure all earrings are removed or covered with tape before school on these days.
Save the date: Songs Around The Christmas Tree - 11th and 12th December 2.30pm
