The Big Toddle!

Thanks to everyone who donated
Pies for Tom Thumb… But we’re going to eat them!

We made jam tarts for Tom Thumb after reading ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’ We enjoyed finding the rhyming words and learning about each of the fairy tale characters.
We rolled out the pastry, filled it with our favourite flavour jam and then made a beautiful top for the pie. They smelt delicious while they were baking in the oven!
Measuring with tape measures

In Maths today we got into groups and took it in turns to measure each other with tape measures. We made sure we started at 1 and used ‘cm’ in our measurements. We worked so well in teams and had so much fun!
Enjoying PE on our field

Nursery enjoyed developing their skills with hoops and balls and creating their own ideas such as making homes for bees!

Our Language Base Reception children joined mainstream this afternoon. It was so exciting to go on a coach to Rose Hill, take in the wonderful scenery and cross the finish line with our round purple mascot above! We raised lots of money to help Barnardo’s.
A big well done to all our ‘Big Toddle’ walkers !

Well done everyone today for your great effort and great behaviour at Beacon Park.
Florence Nightingale!

Today Year 2 had a very special visitor…………Florence Nightingale! She told us all about her life and the fantastic things she did. We traveled across the sea to help soldiers injured in the Crimean War, spent the night in a Victorian hospital and even became soldiers, nurses and doctors ourselves.
Bread tasting from around the World

Yum we had a delicious afternoon. We tried Irish soda bread, Greek pitta bread, Indian naan and chapatti bread and french baguette! We can’t wait to make our own bread at the trip to Smite Farm tomorrow!
Seaside theatre group

What a lovely morning Year 1 have had! The theatre group came in and we stepped back in time to look at how seaside holidays have changed. We went back to 1910, 1940, 1950 and 1970. We tried on lots of different costumes and looked at lots of different things people may have taken on holiday.
