End of Year Newsletter

Dear Children, Parents, Governors, Friends and Families at LHPSN, as we end our year, staff have been reflecting together on our successes and celebrations as a school.
I’d like to use this final newsletter to share and celebrate our school achievements with you.
Our New Reception Starters

15.7.16 A wet LB picnic!
Well done parents and grandparents for bearing with us in the rain! It was lovely to see you all and celebrate the children’s successes this year! Photos to follow….
Maths Games

2FT have been very busy over the last couple of weeks creating our own maths games. We made a draft copy, evaluated and improved the draft and then created a neat copy of the game. When we had finished the games we invited 2LW to play them. We had lots of fun and used our excellent maths skills to answer the different questions!
Home Guard Talk

We were lucky to welcome David to Year Three yesterday! He taught us all about the home guard. Paddington even got to try out a baby’s gas mask!
VE Day Party

Thank you to all family members and friends who joined us for our VE Day celebration today! We had a splendid time!
Bell Boating Regatta

Well done to all the pupils who took part in the Bell Boating Regatta at Upton Warren on Tuesday. A great effort was put in by both Lickey Hills teams in spite of the rainy conditions – well done!
PTA Golf Day

Thank you to the Parents and Grandparents who attended the School PTA Golf day on Friday 8 July. The course was in wonderful condition, the weather was kind, and £200 was raised for the PTA.
A number of prizes were won, including ‘Nearest the Pin’ for our own Mr. Weston.
Well done to all.
Worcestershire FAME Festival

Year 4 had a fantastic musical experience with a trip to the Worcester Arena to play alongside schools from across the county at the Worcestershire Youth Music FAME Festival. In the morning, 4RF took their cornets along to perform with over 600 clarinet and brass instruments including a professional brass band. It was 4RJ’s turn in the afternoon with a string concert in which they played their ukuleles. Everyone enjoyed this amazing opportunity and it was a brilliant way to finish off our year of music lessons.
2LW Conkers

On Tuesday 5th July we headed off to Conkers. We had a great day. We travelled on the Conkerchoo, hunted seeds to find out about ‘The Secret Life of Seeds’ and make our seed butterflies, walked the Wobbly Bridges, enjoyed time on the adventure play area and hunted animal homes and habitats around the lake. We had a fantastic time.
