This half term, we will be continuing to  read 'Mama Miti' by Donna Jo Napoli and will be reading 'Pugs of the Frozen North' by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre.. We will also continue to practise our retrieval and inference skills by looking at different texts each week. In  Geography we will be looking at Mountains and Volcanoes.. We will be practising our times tables in Maths as well as looking at place value, addition and subtraction. In Music, we will be looking at the lives of Mozart and Beethoven and the different features of their music. Abstract art is the focus of our Art work this half term where we will find out more about the life and style of Pablo Picasso. We are looking forward to exploring origins of sound in Science and how we interpret different sounds.

Spellings will be sent out on Mondays to practice at home before the tests on the following Monday.  Current spellings can be found online on the link to the right. Times tables are likewise set on Monday and due back by the following Monday. We also strongly encourage the children to read at home. New books will be sent out on a Friday and will be expected in on a Wednesday with Reading Journals.

Please make sure you have your PE kits in school for our sporting activities: 4HR have PE on a Friday afternoon and 4SB have PE on a Thursday afternoon. Swimming will be on Wednesdays where the children also come dressed in their PE kits. In November, please send your child to school in their kit on their PE day - all PE lessons will be outdoors (weather permitting) and you may wish to consider your child having a tracksuit for the day. Please make sure all earrings are removed or covered with tape before school on these days.
