World Book Day fun in 4LH!

In 4LH we had an AMAZING World Book Day, celebrating our love of reading through sharing the characters that inspire us and the many worlds that books can take us to. We each had a chance to ‘Voice the Value’; preparing a speech to explain how our chosen character reflects one of our school values at Lickey Hills. We also participated in a range of book-related activities, including artwork, competitions and quizzes… and best of all we each got to take home a book token, we can’t wait to explore all the new books we can buy! Happy reading everyone!

World Book Day 2018

Despite the chilly weather Year 5 were dressed in some fantastic costumes today to celebrate World Book Day. We enjoyed presenting our characters to each other and we wrote alternative endings to the books that our characters came from. We finished the day with an assembly where we listened to the winning speeches from each Year group. What a super effort. Well done to all of you!

Nursery enjoyed dressing up and talking about their book characters today. We enjoyed listening to some of our favourite stories and we were lucky to have a librarian come in and share a story with us too.

World Book day in Reception

The children were really excited to share their story book character with their friends and our special visitor from the local library. She shared an  amazing story all about a bear who wants to be a bee and lucky for us we get to take a copy home to share with our family.

Guess the character

We each took it in turns to sit on the HOT SEAT and wear the character hat while everyone else in the class had to give a clue as to who was on the character card. We could give clues about physical attributes or personality but not give the name away! The tricky ones were Wally, Lord Voldemort and the pickle from the Hungry Caterpillar – how would you describe them?IMG_1390
