A special visitor

Merry Christmas to everyone in Reception. We were delighted to have a special visit today from Santa. Hopefully  that means we have been on the good list.

Father Christmas came to Lickey Hills!

Today, Father Christmas visited our school.

With a ring of his bell and a sack full of toys, the children greeted Father Christmas with smiles as wide as a Cheshire cat.

Merry Christmas everyone. We hope you have a wonderful time full of lovely experiences and memory building.

End of term news

It has been a busy but lovely term in LB2. We have finished our term with two step number problems which we have written and solved. We have also looked at Roman buildings and built one of our own. Each part is labelled. Our theme word of the week was colonnade.

This week has been very busy preparing for Christmas. Here is an example of our cards and calendars. These have been sent home to you today. We have discussed reflection and symmetry, light and dark, shading and colour mixing as we produced our beautiful calendars. Look in the Christmas card stocking for our kennings and guess what they are all about.

We continue to do Word of the Day and will be doing a scavenger hunt tomorrow using words we have learnt.

We will be looking at the BFG by Roald Dahl for the first two weeks after Christmas. Optional homework would be to read or watch the BFG and design what he would have as a menu for his Christmas dinner. Children can either design his menu,  make a model or represent the food in any way they like. They can bring it in in the first week back. Reading should continue over Christmas and maths homework is due in on Monday 6th January

In LB2, we all wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A Wriggly Nativity 2019

Thank you to all of the children and staff who worked so hard together on the Wriggly Nativity performance. The hall was filled with super singing, energetic actions and many lovely memories being made. What a super end to the term!

Songs Around the Christmas Tree 2019

Thank you to all for coming along this week to join in with and encourage the Nursery and Reception classes with their songs and actions.

A Wriggly Nativity

KS1 have been working really hard rehearsing for their big Christmas production and today was the premier of A Wriggly Nativity. The children have been amazing with their singing, dancing and learning their lines and we’re sure you’ll be so proud if you haven’t seen them yet – we certainly are.

Songs around the Christmas Tree

What a lovely festive way to begin Christmas ! The children enjoyed performing for their special grown ups, singing favourite songs.

Creative Christmas Crafts

This week, we have had so much fun and enjoyment creating our Christmas crafts. All of the pupils excelled in terms of focus and the amount of pride they felt in their work.

We hope all parents/carers enjoy the ‘keepsake’ art.

In order to support adding details into their conversations before writing clear sentences, Miss Morris worked with individuals to help structure their speech. Here we see a young man clearly construct a sentence using the format of What?, Who? and Where?

Christmas in the Nursery!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Over the past few weeks, the nursery children have been getting into the Christmas spirit by enjoying getting stuck into lots of exciting activities in the classroom! We have been dressing up as elves and wrapping presents in the grotto, making salt dough tree decorations and cards to bring home, painting and decorating Santa’s sleigh, making paper chains and pegging up our Christmas stockings on the elves washing line to name but a few of the fun things we have been getting up to! This week the children have also been absolute superstars when practising and performing our songs around the Christmas tree! They all looked amazing in their costumes and did brilliantly when it was their turn to get on stage! Well done everybody!
