World Book Day in Year Three

To celebrate World Book Day in Year Three, we have been taking part in lots of fun activities! We played Who Am I? with book characters, we took part in a book scavenger hunt and we even read books written in French! Tres bon!

World Book Day 2017

We had a fantastic World Book Day with lots of opportunities to read and discuss books. We found lots of books that we wouldn’t normally read and actually found they were really good and want to keep reading them!

We even did some World Book Day maths as we investigated the ISBN numbers that every book has – a real life use of mathematics to avoid computer errors.

EYFS and KS1 Parents – How You Can Help with Early Reading Skills

Thank you to those of you who attended our ‘Phonics Workshop for Parents’ on Monday 26th September. For those of you who were not able to join us the materials are now on the year group pages for YR, Y1 and Y2.  Please have a look and see how we teach our letters and sounds and how you can help your child with their early reading skills.

Language Base reading afternoon!

What a lovely afternoon we had on Wednesday! Thank you to all of those parents that were able to join us and share their favourite story. The children really enjoyed the novelty of their mums reading to their class. During the morning the children spent time working together to make some treats for their parents (and themselves) which seemed to be a success! Stories and treats… A perfect combination!
