Another Lovely Week in LBSY

Thank you to all the amazing ‘show and tell’ boxes.  They looked great and the children had great fun showing them to everyone.

Don’t forget to bring them in on Friday.

Well done to Oscar who won the listening Eeyore for super listening and Jaiden who won the Reading Bear.  We are looking forward to finding out which books Jaiden shared with the reading bear.

A big well done to all children who have been reading every day at home.  Keep it up and don’t forget to collect the reading tickets for the books that  you read at home  as your name might be drawn out of the hat on Friday!

Our First Week in LBSY

Miss Yates, Miss Hateley and Mrs Bridgewater have been really impressed at how quickly the class have settled in including the new children.

Well done everyone!

We had a great week revising numbers, sounds and 2D shapes . We also went on a walk looking for signs of Autumn which was great fun.

The Reading Bear and Listening Butterfly will begin on 16th September so don’t forget to read every day in order to collect your reading tokens and well as using your good listening skills.

We are reading ‘The Far Away Tree’ by Enid Blyton every day in school which we are all looking forward to listening to.

15.7.16 A wet LB picnic!

Well done parents and grandparents for bearing with us in the rain! It was lovely to see you all and celebrate the children’s successes this year! Photos to follow….

IMG_1227

Our Language Base Reception children joined mainstream this afternoon. It was so exciting to go on a coach to Rose Hill, take in the wonderful scenery and cross the finish line with our round purple mascot above! We raised lots of money to help Barnardo’s.

17.6.16 Getting ready for the Fete!

We have been so busy getting the fruit skewers and sweet and marsh mellow sticks ready today. The children showed excellent fine motor skills doing this. We practiced counting in twenties because the marsh mellows will be 20p each. Hopefully we will make a profit! Come and try our chocolate fountain tomorrow!

The Queen visited us on her 90th Birthday!

A fabulous afternoon was had by all to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. We watched as her helicopter flew over, before she made her very own appearance! We sang happy birthday to her and then we did some dancing together. Long live the Queen!

Exploring the habitats of mini-beasts 26.5.16

IMG_1110

We were so excited to learn about how a mini-beast does not have a backbone or skeleton! Then we explored the eco garden and identified the insects and where they were found. We found a worm, slug, millipede and beetle under this bench!

Handwriting with a difference! 20.5.16

IMG_1084

We used the grooved letters today by rolling the marble around the shape of each letter. We carefully copied the motion with our finger.

Co-ordination exercises 19.5.16

The children enjoyed rotating around different table activities today and had time limits. This activity needs lots of concentration to see how many pebbles can go neatly in a row!
