Songs around the Christmas Tree

What a lovely festive way to begin Christmas ! The children enjoyed performing for their special grown ups, singing favourite songs.

Fruit Kebabs!

We have been reading ‘Meg’s Veg’ and using this as our focus throughout the week. We learned how plants grow and how we look after them. We also learned that fruit grows in the same way as vegetables and so we made yummy fruit kebabs!

Children in Need 2019!

Today we have been fundraising for Children in Need, we really enjoyed wearing yellow to school, eating yummy cakes from the cake sale, taking part in a Pudsey colouring competition and making Pudsey biscuits! We have had so much fun whilst raising money for such a good cause!

Bear and the scary night

In recognition of children in need this week we have been sharing ‘Bear and the Scary Night’. We have been talking about different feelings and considered how he would feel being all alone in the park . We made bear a home today to make him feel safe and cosy once he had been found!

Friendship Week!

Today we wore odd socks to school in honor of friendship week! Wearing odd socks has helped us to remember that as individuals, we are all different but it is okay to be different and if we were all the same, the world would be a very boring place!

Diwali!

This afternoon Nursery and Reception have been learning about and celebrating Diwali, the festival of light! We have been tasting Indian food, making peppermint creams, creating rangoli patterns, doing some traditional Bhangra dancing and making clay diva lamps. We have all been super busy but we have had such a great time!

Bonfire Night Celebrations!

Remember, remember the 5th of November! The children have really enjoyed learning about and celebrating Bonfire Night this week. They have made sparklers from chocolate fingers, melted chocolate and sprinkles, which were yummy according to some very happy children! Then, as an extra special treat, they have also lit sparklers with Miss Salisbury, Miss Williams and Mrs Lynch!

End of half term fun!

What an incredible first half term in Reception! We are so proud of all the children for settling so well and engaging in all learning opportunities. Here are some pictures of the fun we had on the last day of the half term, including  pe games and classroom fun. We hope you all have a really lovely half term.

Fun Family Friday!

We would just like to say how much fun the reception team have had with all of the children and their grown ups today! It was fantastic to see such a big turn out of mums, dads, nans, grandads and family friends. It really was a lovely afternoon and we look forward to many more family events throughout the year!

Playground Games.

As our Great British weather is so unpredictable, while it was dry outside we headed out for some playground games and fun with the outdoor equipment. We really enjoyed playing on the bikes, scooters and jumping in the muddy puddles with our wellies on!
