Net investigation

In maths today we did an investigation to find out if flattened shapes could be folded to make a complete cube. It was a bit fiddly to fold each net but we persevered and made predictions.

Children in Need

The children came to school in yellow and spotty clothes very excited for children in need. We raised lots of money in our cake sale and the children enjoyed making pudsey headbands.

Looking for Martians

Year 5 have had fun testing soil samples from “Mars”. We closely examined and compared each of the three samples before conducting tests to see which contained salts (dissolving, filtering and evaporating) and looking for signs of life (observing gas produced by respiration).

Let There Be Light!

Year 4 have been investigating whether all lights worked the same. We found that different voltage bulbs worked at different brightnesses. The LEDs were even stranger – the yellow one was yellow, but the red one flashed on and off and the white one was yellow or red depending on which way around the wires were connected!

Children In Need

We had a fabulous day wearing yellow and spotty clothes along with our bear ears for the best dressed Children in Need competition.  It was great fun being able to use our knowledge of money to buy cakes and we even made some bear paw biscuits to take home.  The best news was that we  raised just over £90 – well done Reception.

Creative Clauses

Take a look at our super clauses we have been writing for our non-chronological reports. In literacy we are working towards creating non-chronological reports about different animals that are indigenous to Australia.

We love PGL!

We had the most amazing week at PGL! Last Friday, we all got together as a year group to share our favourite parts. Here are a few of our highlights…

Exploring the Gruffalo Setting

Year 1 enjoyed exploring the wood area and they used different adjectives to describe the things they saw, hear and felt.

Children in Need Fun!

Well done everyone for excellent efforts with your Pudsey Bear outfits today. The school was bathed in a yellow glow with quite a few spotty additions – it was a lovely way to fund raise for Children in Need.    Donations so far are at £666.04 – that’s a LOT of cakes sold and eaten!

Could the real Pudsey step forward please!

We have had a fun Children in Need day.  Everyone made a super effort to wear something Pudsey style whether it was spots, bright colours, a bear suit or a combination of all three.  Here we are as a class in our costumes.
