Money, Money, Money…
In Miss Boyer’s Maths group we have been practising adding money and giving change.
4AB Joins the Turtle Party….
This week we have focused on the sea turtles in which the Mediterranean is their home. We researched and talked about the issues why the turtles are endangered. The reasons were very complex, from global warming to irresponsible fishing. We learnt a lot and then produced posters which are to inform people about the dangers facing the turtles and also aim to persuade people to stop doing the things which are harming these precious creatures. Here are our posters and the amazing, talented and inspiring children that made them.
Amazing Igloos!
Look at the amazing igloos the children have made as part of their home learning.
We have also read some great riddles too!
Harrison told me that he worked on this igloo with his mummy. He loved the penguins.
Cameron was very proud of the pattern blocks he used to make his igloo.
Jacob’s Igloo looks good enough to eat!
A small but perfectly formed igloo made out of tiny marshmallows. Very yummy and beautiful!
Rowan loved his snowman and the igloo has a very grand entrance.
Here is Erin showing her riddle.
We guessed Jaiden’s riddle to be about a polar bear!
Bobby investigated a famous explorer of the North Pole for his home learning.
A Tasteful Experiment
This week Year 4 have been investigating what happens when we eat. On Monday we did an experiment to find out if we are supertasters – people with more tastebuds who taste flavours more strongly. We all wanted to be supertasters but the downside is that supertasters are more fussy about what they eat – those sprouts taste really strong!
Then on Tuesday, we had an exciting live lesson with the BBC and other schools from all over the country. We learned lots of amazing things. Did you know that a blue whale’s tongue weighs as much as an elephant?
Dinosaur Stomp
After our preparation this morning we followed the dinosaur signs and walked to the dinosaur stomp! Whilst we were there we ate our biscuits, drank our delicious swamp punch and did the dinosaur conga!!
Dinosaur Stomp preparation
Today in Year 1 we held a Dinosaur Stomp! This morning we prepared by making dinosaur biscuits, making swamp punch and making dinosaur masks to wear to our party this afternoon! Then we composed pieces of music in teams to play at our Dinosaur Stomp.
