Another Lovely Week in LBSY

Thank you to all the amazing ‘show and tell’ boxes.  They looked great and the children had great fun showing them to everyone.

Don’t forget to bring them in on Friday.

Well done to Oscar who won the listening Eeyore for super listening and Jaiden who won the Reading Bear.  We are looking forward to finding out which books Jaiden shared with the reading bear.

A big well done to all children who have been reading every day at home.  Keep it up and don’t forget to collect the reading tickets for the books that  you read at home  as your name might be drawn out of the hat on Friday!

Melting

We have been investigating melting. We planned an experiment to see if different coloured ice cubes melted at the same speed. Then we drew cartoons to record how fast the different cubes melted.

Family Fun Day!

The children had a lot of fun on Saturday.

If you have any more photos from the event that you would like us to add them please email them to office@lickeyhills.worcs.sch.uk

Our First Full Week

What a wonderful first week.  The children have settled in really well and have enjoyed playing with new and old friends as well as investigating their classrooms and outdoor learning environment. All the new equipment in the physical shed has been put to good use, there may be one or two members of the next Olympic gold hockey team here!

As part of our Magical Me topic we have had lots of fun exploring the question ‘Who am I?’ through painting self-portraits and using playdough to make models of ourselves. We have been sharing our ‘All About Me’ booklets during circle time, it is great to find out about our friend’s families, pets and what the children enjoy doing.

Maths

2FT have been trying very hard with their maths this week. They have been adding and subtracting 10 from a 2 digit number-some children even managed to use 3 digit numbers!

Measuring Year 4

The sun was out so Year 4 took the opportunity to practice some measurement in the playground. We’ll let the rest of the school figure out what was going on at lunchtime.

Our first week at Nursery

We have made such a fabulous start to Nursery. We look so smart in our school uniform and are already settling in beautifully.
