Month: April 2016
Out and about…
The sun came out so we all went out for a bit of fresh air. While we were running around and playing we found two huge frogs! It was very exciting to see what our bowlful of tadpoles In the classroom will grow into! Mrs Green helped them get safely back to their pond.
Healthy Fruit Kebabs!
Here we are enjoying our healthy fruit kebabs! We chose the fruit we wanted and carefully threaded each piece onto the stick. The best bit was eating it!
Sorting coins
In Maths today we had a go at sorting coins from 1p to £5. We looked at ordering them and using different coins to make an amount. Later in the week we will have some money to spend in our role play area and work out what change is needed.
Our fantastic assembly!
Well done 2FT for performing a fantastic class assembly all about explores. The children performed, danced and sang wonderfully. They also spread a very important message…
We are all explorers, every day exploring the world through our learning here at school, at home, all the time. The world out there is waiting for us. There are still places to explore and adventures to be had.
Watch out world the bravest, most courageous explorers ever are here in 2FT!
French Engineering
As part of International Day we learnt about Gustave Eiffel, a French civil engineer famous for the Eiffel Tower and constructing the Statue of Liberty.
We then split into groups and each group was given 30 drinking straws and a short piece of sticky tape – the challenge was to build the tallest tower, including a “windy day” test.
International Day
Wow what a fun day we are having! Our corridor has turned into a street in Spain where we have been visiting different classrooms exploring different Spanish traditions. We have made our own salsa and eaten it with nachos, we have learnt some Spanish songs and sung these with castanets and made some Spanish art work. We are excited to show our parents in the assembly this afternoon!

Vouz désirez?
To start off our International Day we began with breakfast, or petit dejeuner. After learning how to order breakfast in a café and design our own breakfasts, we then had the chance to taste!
International Day
The children really enjoyed International Day today. They made salsa, read a Spanish story and practised all of the Spanish words they know. They also learnt about Picasso and created some of their own pictures, as well as creating flags from different countries. Everyone had lots of fun learning Spanish songs and dances!
