Oli’s Biome

In year five our best friend Oli made an exquisite Rain forest biome!

Visit From Oli (2)

In year 5 Oli has been visiting us this is his second time visiting us and it was extremeley fun!

Botanical Survey

Years 2 and 3 have been surveying the school field and discovered that there is a lot more than just grass out there. Of course there are daisies and dandelions and but we also found white clover, buttercup, speedwell, chickweed, thistle, cranesbill, greater plantain and common vetch. What a fantastic ecosystem our field actually is when you look closely!

What is your favourite toy?

Our show and tell this week was based upon the children’s favourite toys and why?

Taylor’s favourite toy is Pluto the dog who he got from a farm shop. Pluto is great for cuddling and playing hide and seek.

Harrison favourite toy is a bunny rabbit.

Harrison loves cuddling his rabbit as he is soft and cuddly.  He always takes him to bed. All the children agreed with him as they stroked the rabbit.

He also loves to play games!

Freddie brought in his favourite toy called Pikachu!

Mummy said that Freddie loves his toy and takes him everywhere.

Jaiden brought in his trophy and certificate.

He told us it is like his favourite toy as he takes it every where and he is very proud of it!

Liam’s favourite toy is the monkey because he is cheeky.

When is LATER?

In maths we were doing one hour later and we drew pictures of  what we would be doing later in the day.  Later is what you might do in the evening or the next day, for example if it’s twelve o’clock and you add an hour on it would be one o’clock.  Some of us were working out when TV programmes finished from their start times.

Birmingham 10k – Dreamed, Believed, Achieved!

Birmingham 10K – Dreamed, Believed, Achieved! A huge congratulations to everyone who ran the Birmingham 10k on Sunday on behalf of Ward 15 Birmingham Children’s Hospital for our own inspirational Oli Portman. Despite the heat and other challenges (hose pipes, forgotten trainers and a big hill at the end) everyone crossed the line and celebrated in style. Many thanks to Mrs Brooks (5SB) for organising and encouraging the staff runners. The Just Giving Page is now at a fantastic £2,515. many thanks to everyone who supported and donated. The page remains open for any further donations.
