Month: June 2016

THANK YOU!

HUGE thanks to everyone who came along to our Summer Fayre and Enterprise event on Saturday. What a super day we all had encouraging you to spend your money and have some fun. Thank you to all the children and staff for organising their stalls and to our super PTA for ensuring everyone had plenty to do and see on the day. The funds raised have been counted today and we will have a final total with you VERY soon.

Harvest Time!

Over the last few months we have been growing our own potatoes as part of the ‘Grow Your Own Potatoes’ project. We grew Jesters and Rockets. Today was harvest time!

We carefully emptied the soil and sorted through to find all the potatoes.

Then we weighed them to see which class had grown the most.

Summer Fayre

We had lots of fun with our stall at the Summer Fayre! Thank you to everyone who came to support us!

Little Red Riding Hood

We enjoyed listening to the story and afterwards pretended to be different characters and ask each other questions.

17.6.16 Getting ready for the Fete!

IMG_1213

We have been so busy getting the fruit skewers and sweet and marsh mellow sticks ready today. The children showed excellent fine motor skills doing this. We practiced counting in twenties because the marsh mellows will be 20p each. Hopefully we will make a profit! Come and try our chocolate fountain tomorrow!

Learning about different sorts of trees…

IMG_1242[1]IMG_1240[1] We are making collages of trees. We learnt how to identify trees by the shape of their leaves. We then made the tree using the correct shaped leaves!

Preparations for the School Fayre!

Roll up, roll up and play our Human Fruit Machine at the school fayre tomorrow!

Today we have been making our fruit machines and our decorations. Here are some photos to show you.

Lower Smite Farm

Year 4 had a fantastic time investigating habitats at Lower Smite Farm! We left the rain behind and enjoyed a brilliant day in the sun doing lots of science investigations.

Pond dipping revealed a wealth of water animals from water boatmen to mayfly nymph, from newts to dragonfly nymph and much more.

A hunt through the woodland and edge of the meadow revealed bush crickets, centipedes, woodlice, frogs and newts, slugs and snails, frog hoppers and a range of beetles. One beetle was of particular scientific interest and as yet unidentified! Year 4 wait excitedly for the experts to report back!

A big thank you to everyone at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and our parent helpers who helped the day run smoothly.

Celebrating Father’s day

We invited our Daddies to spend time with us in Nursery, to enjoy some cheese and biscuits and to share a story.
