In Art, Year 3 have been exploring impressionism, especially focusing on landscapes. They've been down to the field to sketch a landscape and have used watercolours to bring them to life. Next they are going to paint onto canvas so watch this space for their fabulous artwork🖼️🖌️

It was wonderful to welcome our Reception families into school on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th February for our maths parental engagement sessions. Our families enjoyed subitising and learning about fractions. They experimented with finding different ways of showing 2 halves can make 1 whole🧮🟰

Year 1 had a super day at Selly Manor today! We retold the events of The Great Fire of London, we dressed up as bakers, maids, Samuel Pepys and The King and we played wooden games just like people would have done in 1666. We also went on a tour of the house, thinking about the materials that the house is made from and the different items in each room. It was so much fun!🏠

Year 2 have been busy exploring different properties of materials, and today’s science lesson sparked plenty of excitement! The children investigated whether everyday materials conduct electricity, using a simple circuit to test their predictions⚡️🔋

A huge well done to our Reception children for sharing all of their wintery themed learning in their assembly last week. Our children have loved learning about Antarctica, especially about penguins!🐧❄️

KS2 had a wonderful evening singing their hearts out at Young Voices on Monday. After months of rehearsals, perfecting the songs and dance routines, all of the children were so excited to show their grown ups and the 6000 people in the crowd their musical performances. They made us so proud!🎤🎶

We are delighted to share that our wonderful Reception children have all been awarded the opportunity for their artwork to be included in a 'Me and My Family' book. We are sure you will agree that having your artwork published is something to be excited and proud of. Congratulations Reception, we look forward to seeing the published book in the near future📚

Year 5/6 had a great time investigating how to create a variety of simple circuits. They used previous knowledge of electrical symbols to draw their circuits too!💡

As part of our history topic on pioneers, Year 2 have been learning all about Neil Armstrong and the incredible achievements of the Apollo 11 mission. Last week, we had the amazing opportunity to step inside a 360° planetarium for a truly out-of-this-world experience🌍
