HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY!📚 To celebrate, here are our wonderful Year 1 children retelling the story of Lila and the Secret of Rain🌧️💧

Year 1 have been learning about healthy eating in PSHE and about cooking and nutrition in DT. As part of our learning, we made a fruit salad by cutting and chopping fruit safely using our 'peek-a-boo' hold to keep our fingers away from the knife. We were so sensible and our fruit salad was yummy!🔪🍎🍌🍓

Year 5 / 6 have been enjoying exploring different artists. This week the children used clay to sculpt animals, inspired by Frida Kahlo🧑🏼‍🎨👩🏽‍🎨

Our Year 5 families enjoyed a fantastic morning of maths. They experimented with different ways to calculate a specific answer and discussed methods to tackle more complex questions. A huge thank you to our families for joining us!✖️🟰

1JS had a super (if a little wet) time at Beaconside sports event with their friends! They took part in a carousel of activities, including hockey, rugby, basketball and lots more. They had great fun, not even the rain could dampen their mood!⚽️🏉

Year 5 / 6 have loved discovering and discussing the very famous artwork created by Banksy. They were so inspired that they created their own 'graffiti art' too!🎨🖌️

Our Nursery children made hand print hearts to give to their loved ones. We hope you have a lovely day celebrating all of the people you love❤️

Year 4 concluded their Romans topic in history by exploring artefacts and secondary sources. They had to decide what the artefacts were used for and if it represented a roman or celt viewpoint. They are now ready for battle as Roman soldiers as we can create a Testudo; a roman battle formation🛡️🤺
